When I was a child, my favourite story was about a man who lived forever, but his eyes were heavy with the weight of all he‘d seen
Look at the sky. It’s not dark and black and without character. The black is in fact deep blue. And over there, lighter blue. And blowing through the blueness and the blackness, the wind swirling through the air and then, shining, burning, bursting through - the stars! Can you see how they roar their light? Everywhere we look, the complex magic of nature blazes before our eyes.
one day your life may depend on it.
And I built a home,
how long have you traveled a l o n e ?
p e r h a p s i n e v e r h a v edidn’t anyone ever tell you? fear is a superpower. fear can make you faster and cleverer and stronger. And one day you’re going to come back to this barn and on that day you’re going to be very afraid indeed. But that’s okay, because if you’re very wise and very strong, fear doesn’t have to make you cruel or cowardly. fear can make you kind. it doesn’t matter if there’s nothing under the bed, or in the dark. so long as you know it’s okay to be afraid of it. So listen, if you listen to nothing else listen to this. you’re always going to be afraid, even if you learn to hide it. fear is like a companion. a constant companion, always there. but it’s okay. because fear can bring us together. fear can bring you home. f e a r m a k e s c o m p a n i o n s o f u s a l l .
